Skiers from the Cincinnati area concluded a AWSA Drivers’ Clinic at Skiers’ Runway this past weekend (June 2). We were fortunate to have four senior drivers share their experiences and enthusiasm to about ten students who plan to advance their waterski ski tournament driver’s training. Combined tournament driving experience between Bruce Baker, Ron Troeger, Tim McKune and Greg Kuenning was close to 150 years! Safety and excellence were stressed, as well as the need for constant practice and improvement. OWSA is thankful to these four men for their time commitment and dedication to our sport. Hopefully, more such clinics can be arranged to keep us all well trained. Please email info@skiowsa.com if you are interested in Driver's, Scorer's, or Judge's clinics in Ohio.

The Last Rubber Band Man 3rd Slalom tournament was held today at Bootsarosa in honor of David and Carol James who are moving to West Palm Beach Fl this weekend, after skiing for 20 years in Ohio. Dave is know locally as the "Rubber Band Man" because he can hold onto so much slack out of the buoys. Safe travels Dave and Carol.

Up at Glassy Waters in Newton Falls Ohio, Buckeye Buoy Tour stop number four, Pick Your Partner, went down with a cash prize on the line. The Gassy Waters site lived up to its name, with skiing conditions being very sublime. Several skiers skied personal bests. Skiers were seeded by handicap and head to head winners from the first round picked their partner for the second round from the pool of losers, then tried to advance as a team by skiing head to head against another team, all the way towards the $300 cash prize awarded to the winning pair. Dave Miller and Sam Ingram finished first, with Michael Beinhauer (a skier from Illinois who traveled here with his son Holden) and Casey Warren finishing in second. They earned $50 each. Skylar Rogers and Joan Miller got $25 each for third place, and the team of Larry Zanko and Holden Beinhauer finished in fourth place.
Here is the official scorebook. Check out more photos on the OWSA Facebook page. Ohio's Northeast skiers have been busy. Here are results from the July 1 tournament at Bellalago and the Bootsarosa 3 Round Slalom on July 13, 2017.
